Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day raised more than $2,500 for the Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Dept. The franchise in Canton gave away free cones of selected flavors on April 8 and in return asked that patrons donate money. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to the fire department for equipment and training. This is the ninth year that the fundraiser has helped the fire department and organizers estimate that 5,000 cones of ice cream were given away.
