Ben & Jerry’s of Canton will be celebrating Free Cone Day to thank their customers for their patronage, and to raise money and awareness in support of the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department. Volunteer fire and EMS members will be giving fire truck and ambulance tours and providing information about opportunities in the fire & emergency medical services.
Last year, Ben & Jerry’s of Canton distributed over 4,000 servings of their super premium ice cream during Free Cone Day. In return, customers were encouraged to make a donation to the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department. In 2013, these donations totaled over $2,000.00. Since 2005, over $15,500.00 in donations have been raised for the Department through Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Days. 100% of all donations are put towards training and equipment for Canton’s volunteer firefighters and EMTs.
Free Cone Day is on Tuesday, April 8, 2014; 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at Ben & Jerry’s; The Shoppes at Farmington Valley, Rte. 44, Canton.
